Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim community in Anambra State and across Nigeria as they join their counterparts worldwide to celebrate the Eid Kabir (Eid al-Adha) festival.
In a goodwill message released on Friday, Governor Soludo described the annual celebration as a profound spiritual event that commemorates the unwavering faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to Allah’s command. He noted that the values at the heart of the festival—sacrifice, devotion, and submission to divine will—resonate deeply with people of all faiths and reflect the shared essence of humanity.
While felicitating with Muslim faithful, the Governor also acknowledged the positive impact and contributions of the Muslim community to the socio-economic development of Anambra State. He praised the peaceful co-existence between adherents of different religions in the state, which he described as a source of pride and a reflection of the state’s deep-rooted culture of tolerance and mutual respect.
“As we mark this important festival,” Governor Soludo said, “let us all—regardless of religion—embrace the spirit of selflessness, show compassion to the less privileged, and remain committed to the collective good. These values are essential for building a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive society.”
He concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful in the state and beyond a joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid Kabir celebration, filled with peace, prosperity, and renewed dedication to national unity and progress.
The statement was signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, and dated June 6, 2025.
