As the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State draws closer, members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ezi Anam Ward, Anambra West Local Government Area, are rallying with renewed energy and focus. The ward is set to host a “mega strategic meeting” on May 25, 2025, at the residence of Hon. Romanus Egwuatu, a respected political figure who also serves as the Anambra West LGA Chairman of APGA.
The meeting, scheduled for 12 noon, will bring together party executives, grassroots stakeholders, and newly registered members under one roof. According to a notice signed by Hon. Ekene Michael, Chairman of Ezi Anam Ward, the agenda will centre on two key issues: Party Progress and Governor Soludo’s Second Term Agenda.
This forthcoming convergence is generating excitement not only because of its political significance but also due to the growing admiration for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s performance, both in Anambra West and across the state.
In recent times, Ezi Anam and indeed Anambra West have benefited from tangible governance under Soludo’s watch. Once marginalized due to its difficult terrain and flood-prone areas, the local government area has seen the gradual emergence of critical infrastructure projects. The Mmiata-Anam-Nzam Road, once a distant dream, has now been completed. Dilapidated roads leading into riverine settlements are being rehabilitated, bringing hope to communities that have long been cut off from economic opportunities.
Moreover, education and healthcare have not been left behind. Under Soludo’s leadership, rural schools and health centres have been equipped with additional personnel and essential materials, addressing long-standing service gaps. Women and youth have also been empowered through agricultural and cooperative schemes specifically designed to support rural livelihoods, a gesture that continues to resonate deeply with residents.
But the admiration for Soludo’s governance goes well beyond Anambra West. Across the state, his performance has struck a chord with many. The “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative has empowered thousands of young people with vocational training and startup capital. His bold urban renewal drive in Okpoko, near Onitsha, has turned what was once considered an intractable slum into a symbol of modern urban transformation.
Further underscoring his commitment to infrastructure, the Soludo administration has flagged off and completed over 400 kilometres of road projects spanning all three senatorial zones. In governance, he has pushed for digital transformation, civil service reforms, and environmental cleanliness—all in alignment with his Solution Agenda.
In light of these strides, the mood in Ezi Anam is understandably upbeat. “It’s not just about loyalty to party—it’s about results,” noted a stakeholder in the ward. “Soludo is walking the talk, and in Ezi Anam, we are proud to stand by him.”
The choice of venue—Hon. Romanus Egwuatu’s residence—adds a personal touch to the political gathering, reflecting the deep grassroots connection APGA enjoys in the ward. As both the host and the LGA party chairman, Egwuatu’s involvement lends weight to the meeting’s importance.
As May 25 approaches, anticipation continues to build. Party faithful are not only preparing to strategize for the re-election campaign but also to fortify internal unity, welcome new members, and strengthen the ward’s organizational framework.
In the quiet, resilient town of Ezi Anam, one thing is becoming clear: the ward is no longer content to sit on the sidelines of state politics. With Governor Soludo’s achievements as both a rallying cry and a roadmap, APGA in Ezi Anam is ready to lead from the front in what promises to be a defining moment in Anambra’s political journey.
