Commissioner Nwabunwanne Urges Anambra West APGA Members to Prioritize Party Interest, Be Consistent, Patient

The Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters, and Community Affairs, Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, has called on APGA members in Anambra West Local Government Area to put the party’s interest above personal interests, emphasizing unity and loyalty as key to sustaining APGA’s dominance.

Chief Nwabunwanne made this appeal last Friday, during a special gathering to welcome Chief Edochie Onuora, an international businessman, who officially left the Labour Party to join APGA. The event, which drew party stakeholders and supporters, was seen as a significant boost to the party’s strength in Anambra West.

Addressing party members, the Commissioner emphasized that equity and fairness should guide political participation, urging members to allow benefits and opportunities to be spread across board rather than concentrated in the hands of a few individuals.

“Some of those complaining today have benefited immensely from APGA in the past. We must ensure that others also get the opportunity to benefit. Governor Soludo believes strongly in fairness and justice, and I assure you that no one will be left behind,” he said.

Chief Nwabunwanne reminded members that their political relevance depends on the strength of APGA in Anambra West. He cautioned against internal divisions and urged them to work together to sustain the party’s influence.

“If we allow personal grievances to weaken our unity, we are only making ourselves vulnerable. The only way to remain politically relevant is to keep APGA strong. If the party loses its dominance, no one here will benefit,” he warned.

The Commissioner further advised elected and appointed officials to see their positions as avenues for service rather than self-enrichment.

“Politics is about serving the people. When you are in office, it should not be about what you gain but what you give. If we remain focused and dedicated, APGA will continue to grow, and more people will benefit in due time,” he added.

Chief Nwabunwanne expressed optimism that Chief Edochie Onuora’s defection to APGA would bring new energy to the party, describing him as a valuable asset who will contribute to the party’s progress. He urged party members to embrace him and work collectively to ensure APGA’s continued dominance in Anambra West.

His remarks reinforced the need for patience, commitment, and unity, as APGA seeks to solidify its position ahead of future elections.
