The Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters, and Community Affairs, Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, today, officially flagged off the construction of a 1.3km road project in Anambra West Local Government Area.

The project, valued at over N500 million, is being executed by Pinatech, a reputable construction company, with funding from the Federal Government. The road stretches from Aligom/Eke Road to the three-angle junction between Oroma-Etiti and Umudora Anam and is expected to be completed before Easter.

For years, the poor state of the Aligom/Eke Road has posed a significant challenge to residents, especially farmers, traders, and transporters who rely on it to connect to other parts of the communities for their daily activities. During the rainy season, the road becomes nearly impassable, affecting economic activities and access to essential services. The intervention of Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne in securing this project has been widely celebrated by the people.

A community elder, Ogbuevi Okeke Ndive, described the development as a long-awaited relief, stating that the road’s completion will significantly ease movement and promote business growth in the area. Similarly, Chief Jacob Udoba, a retired Immigration officer, eulogized Chief Nwabunwanne for his unwavering determination to open up the communities, ensuring that rural areas receive the infrastructural development they deserve.

The economic and social impact of the road cannot be overstated. The new road will enhance connectivity between Oroma Etiti and Umudora Anam, facilitating the transportation of goods and services while improving access to markets, schools, and healthcare centers. A representative of Pinatech, the construction company handling the project, assured the public that the company is committed to delivering a high-quality, durable road before Easter. He emphasized that the team is working tirelessly to ensure that the project meets all required standards and expectations.

The Federal Government’s investment in this road project aligns with its broader commitment to improving rural infrastructure across Nigeria. The role played by Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne in attracting the project further highlights his dedication to the development of Anambra communities.

As construction progresses, anticipation continues to build among residents who look forward to the completion of the road, which is set to bring a new era of accessibility, economic prosperity, and infrastructural development to Oroma Etiti and Umudora Anam.
