In a bid to ensure a peaceful and transparent process, the Ogbunike community in Anambra State convened a meeting with the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne to discuss the forthcoming election of their next traditional ruler.
The meeting, which was attended by stakeholders, including elders, chiefs, and representatives of various interests, was aimed at promoting unity and understanding among the community members.
Chief Nwabunwanne urged the aspirants and stakeholders to put the interests of the community above personal interests and work towards a harmonious election of the next traditional ruler.
The meeting featured discussions and deliberations on the selection process, with participants emphasizing the need for transparency, accountability, and adherence to traditional norms and customs.
In several contributions, the stakeholders stressed the need for the community to remain united and focused on the task ahead. They warned against any form of division or rancour that could undermine the election process.
The meeting ended with a resolution to work together towards a peaceful and successful election of the next traditional ruler. The stakeholders pledged to uphold the values of justice, fairness, and transparency in the process.
