Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, recently, visited Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli Campus.

The visit marks a significant turning point for the institution; because after 21 long years, the students are finally set to enjoy a steady power supply, courtesy of the governor’s commitment.

During his visit, Soludo acknowledged the campus’s orderly environment but emphasized the need for serious infrastructure upgrades. He pledged to work out a plan to restore power to Uli and the campus, ensuring that the community benefits from the intervention as well.

The governor’s vision for quality education is evident in his promise to provide internet and WiFi access in public areas within the campus. This move is expected to deepen the students’ access to the digital world and give the campus a competitive edge.

Soludo’s commitment to education is reassuring, and his willingness to invest in human capital is a step in the right direction.

As the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Omenugha, aptly put it, propelling the Uli campus forward has the potential to transform it into the “Japan of Africa” ¹.

Overall, Governor Soludo’s visit and promises bring new hope to the students and faculty of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli Campus. With the anticipated infrastructure upgrades and improved access to digital resources, the campus is poised for a brighter future.

Meanwhile, those at the event are: the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; Chief Protocol officer, Hon Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour); the member representing Ihiala Constituency One at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Barr. Jude Ngobili and his Ihiala Two counterpart; Hon. Chukwuebuka Iloh, Mayor, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anayo Orjiakor, among others.
