The First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo earlier yesterday joined umu nwanyi Idemili South to celebrate International Womens’ Day.
Speaking during the celebration, Mrs Nonye Soludo commended their resilience in the face of challenges and assured that she would continue to work with her husband, Professor Charles Soludo to empower women to be more involved in societal development.
She added that the theme of 2024 International Womens’ Day aims to forge a more inclusive world for women and also underscores the need to invest more in women so that they can have access to diverse opportunities to participate in development.
Anambra State First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo also commissioned newly reconstructed traditional rulers building in the council secretariat, commended Hon. Amaka Obi for the giant strides in Idemili South, stating that her projects is inline with Governor Charles Soludo’s vision of sustainable, livable and prosperous homeland.
Earlier on, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi appreciated Governor Charles Soludo and his wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo for the massive roads construction especially in Idemili South, stating that the council area will continue supporting them and the party.
In their separate remarks, member representing Idemili South in Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ebuka Igwe(Ugosinachi), member representing Anaocha 1 in State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi(Anyanwu Anaocha), Special Adviser to Governor Charles Soludo on Youth Empowerment, Hon. Dr. Nelson Omenugha, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Don Onyenji, lauded Hon. Amaka Obi for her commitment to take Idemili South to the next level of development, stating that she is following the footsteps of Governor Charles Soludo.
Highlight of the event was commissioning of newly reconstructed traditional rulers building and presentation of gifts to Mrs Nonye Soludo.
