Political Tsunami may soon hit the camp of Chief Chinedu Obidigwe and Sir Patrick Udoba (Ezego), representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency and Anambra West Constituency, respectively, unless urgent steps are taken by their political strategists.

Multichannels247 investigations revealed that many former political allies of the duo are bitter but merely playing along. They complain that promises made to them while campaigning for their first tenures have not been fulfilled. They also alleged that the duo hardly pick calls these days and vowed to express their anger by supporting other contestants at the forthcoming polls.
In Anambra West, majority accuse Obidigwe and Obalim of not doing any Constituency project in the area, except giving “stomach infrastructure” to their cronies. They opine that “giving private vehicles and motorcycles to few individuals does not change the fortune of the Constituency, stating that what is needed are infrastructures that will create opportunities for everyone, not few political cronies.”
They also claim that it is the turn of the Anambra West to represent Anambra East/West Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers.
Aside from the above, the new political revolution started by former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi may affect the fortunes of the duo. Obi’s revolution has re-engineered Nigerians political awareness such that many Nigerians are willing to vote and ensure that their votes count. They are beginning to ask questions regarding certain issues hitherto overlooked as major concerns. A respondent who pleaded anonymity queried why Anambra East/West cannot elect better qualified candidates. “What was the address of these people before they joined politics? What businesses were they doing before now? What are their educational qualifications? How can our area, with numerous capable hands, choose these sets of people to represent them? It is shameful and unacceptable.”
As a result of the new political awareness re-engineered by the Obi revolution, anyone without serious political value can no longer stand a chance. This is in addition to INEC’s new regulations and guidelines for elections. With the new arrangements for conduct, accreditation and voting procedure at elections, and collation of election results, the noose of elections have been tightened against loopholes or manipulations by anybody or group.
In article 38, ‘Electronic Transmission of Results and Upload of Results to IReV,’ the commission stated that, “On completion of all the Polling Unit voting and results procedures, the Presiding Officer shall:
“(i) Electronically transmit or transfer the result of the Polling Unit, direct to the collation system as prescribed by the Commission.
“(ii) Use the BVAS to upload a scanned copy of the EC8A to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV), as prescribed by the Commission.
“(iii) Take the BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) and the original copy of each of the forms in a tamper evident envelope to the Registration Area/Ward Collation Officer, in the company of Security Agents. The Polling Agents may accompany the Presiding Officer to the RA/Ward Collation Centre.”
Also, many who will be voting for Peter Obi for President will in the process, vote for other candidates contesting under Labour Party’s platform.
Before the recent developments, many observers took it for granted that the forthcoming elections for the Green Chamber and state assembly were already a work-over for Obidigwe and his state assembly counterpart, Udoba.
