A master trainer in the Anambra State “1youth2skills initiative”, Mrs Calista Unoma Okoye has said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is revolutionizing the lives of Anambra youths through the innovative “One Youth, Two Skills” program.

According to her, the groundbreaking initiative aims to equip over 10,000 young individuals annually with valuable skills, empowering them to become entrepreneurs and contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth .

Mrs Okoye who specialises in production of customised male/female footwear, belts and bags noted that the program was designed to revive the traditional Igbo Apprenticeship System, adapting it to meet contemporary needs.

She said, “By providing training in various skills, Governor Soludo’s administration is building a productive youth population that will drive the state’s development and improve family well-being.”

She said that some of the benefits include that with vocational training, youths are empowered with skills in areas such as agriculture, technology, and craftsmanship.

“Experienced professionals guide participants, providing valuable insights and support.

“Graduates of the program receive start-up funds to establish their businesses.

“The program has been expanded to include 47 skills, ensuring that participants have a wide range of options to choose from. This expansion is part of Governor Soludo’s vision to make Anambra a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation.

“The ‘One Youth, Two Skills’ program is just one aspect of Governor Soludo’s comprehensive plan to develop Anambra. His administration is also investing in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

“By empowering youths through the ‘One Youth, Two Skills’ program, Governor Soludo is shaping a brighter future for Anambra, where young individuals can realize their potential and contribute to the state’s prosperity.”
